Matt popped the question at the Columbus Zoo during Wildlights. Funny thing is I had asked him to go earlier in the year and he kept putting it off and the day he decides to take me it was a BLIZZARD. I kept asking him to turnaround because the roads were so bad. Anyways, we got there and walked around looking at all the lights and animals. Then we stopped to watch the koala bear. We were the only ones at the exhibit and when we stopped to watch the koala bear in his tree, he all the sudden climbed down and came over to the window. when I turned around there Matt was with the ring! And he popped the question.
I found most of our wedding day inspiration from Pinterest, of course! I also got a few great ideas from Ginger at Haehn’s Florist. She is a florist but more like a wedding planner!
We both were looking forward to celebrating with friends and family! I love to dance so that’s what I looked forward to most. And Matt was all about the food the whole time we planned. So he couldn’t wait to eat what he had picked out for everyone!
I wish we would have known how much crap you have to tote home after a wedding, if your vendor makes you get out same day. Also I didn’t like being forced to leave at a certain time. While our friends and family helped out tremendously, I would choose a venue that can wait until the next day or does it for you. Hindsight is 20/20 though and it wasn’t the end of the world.
Our best newlywed advice would be don’t forget about your dreams, hobbies, and friends once you get married. You have to have a life outside of your partner and be your own person. After all, that’s what made them fall in love with you in the first place.
I'd love to know your thoughts! PLEASE COMMENT BELOW...
